IABC’s Commitment to Ethics
Business Acumen | 3 February 2021
IABC’s Commitment to Ethics
by: IABC Ethics Committee

Responsible and ethical communication is key to ensuring trust in organizations and society, a vital task during these difficult times. IABC supports and guides communication professionals worldwide to adapt the highest standards for ethics and professional behavior and, during February, will highlight its Code of Ethics and applicability to our daily work.

“As members of IABC, we all sign up to the Code of Ethics,” Bent Sorensen, chair of the IABC Ethics Committee, says. “This is not just a formality to please the organization, but a tool encouraging members to promote honest, high-quality communication and moral behavior.”

The current IABC Code of Ethics was approved in 2017, and it provides a clear and user-friendly guide to making consistent and responsible choices in communication work.

During the campaign #EthicsMatter, IABC will promote the Code of Ethics and bring attention to the importance of ethics by publishing experiences and examples of good practice from colleagues as well as sharing content and posts from our partner, Global Alliance.

Review the IABC Code of Ethics here, and look forward to more ethics content from IABC and Catalyst throughout February.
